Helicopter Altitude Controller Design

Project Overview

This project involved the system identification of a helicopter using control theory as well as a  analogue controller design for the system.

Project Objectives

The project objectives detail the controller specifications that needed to be achieved. Some of the main specifications are listed below:

  • Accurate set point tracking (within 0.4m of final value)
  • 20%> overshoot
  • Output disturbance rejection

Project Results

Here is how our controller did with respect to the above set specifications:

  • 0.4m> set point error achieved
  • 20%> overshoot achieved
